How do I add a file to Ask Alori?
Click + under the Ask Alori box, pick a picture, PDF, Word or text file (.md too), then ask your question.
Click + at the bottom left of the Ask Alori box, pick a file, then type your question and send it. Alori reads the file and answers about it, for example "make a quote from this PDF" or "add the customers in this list".
Also called: attach a file, upload a document, send a PDF, joindre un fichier, ajouter un document, téléverser un fichier, pièce jointe
Step 1: Pick your file
Open Ask Alori and click + (Add a file) under the box. Pick one file or a few at once. You can add:
a picture: PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF, up to 10 MB
a PDF, up to 20 MB
a Word file (.docx), up to 10 MB
a text file: .txt, .md (Markdown) or .csv, up to 2 MB
You can add up to 5 pictures or files to one message. You can also paste a screenshot straight into the box.
Click: Ask Alori › Add a file
Step 2: Ask your question
Each file shows above the box, with a spinner until it has uploaded. Click the x on a file to take it off. Type what you want Alori to do with it, then press Enter or click Send. You can also send the file with no words, and Alori tells you what it sees.
Click: Ask Alori › your question › Send
Good to know
Your files stay with the chat. Click a file in the chat to open it again.
Alori reads the files of your newest question in full. In later questions it still knows which files you sent, so add a file again if you want Alori to read it again.
Deleting a chat deletes its files too.
If it doesn't work
"Add a picture (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF), a PDF, a Word file (.docx) or a text file (.txt, .md, .csv)." That type of file can't be read. Save it as one of these first, for example a PDF.
"That file is too big…" Make it smaller, or split it into a few files.
"5 pictures or files at most per message." Send the first 5, then add the rest in your next message.
"That file didn't upload. Add it again." Check your connection, then click + and pick the file again.
I don't see the +. Your app may be on an older version: the owner can upgrade it, see How do I upgrade my app to the newest Alori features?.
