How do I connect Slack or Discord?
Click Connect on Slack or Discord in Connectors and allow Alori. Your bot then posts in your channels, and your team talks to it there.
Click Connect on Slack or Discord in Connectors and allow Alori. Your bot can then post in your channels (new deals, paid invoices, daily summaries), and your team can talk to it there.
Also called: Slack, Discord, team chat, channel posts, notifications in Slack, messagerie, clavardage, canal
There's nothing to turn on in your app afterwards: your bot uses the connection right away.
Step 1: Open Connectors
In the menu on the left, click Connectors. Pick Messaging to see Slack and Discord.
Click: Connectors › Messaging
Step 2: Connect and allow
Click Connect on the one you use.
Slack: pick your workspace and allow Alori.
Discord: pick your server and allow Alori. Alori's bot joins the whole server. Discord asks for Administrator so the bot can see every channel, private ones too. If you untick it, the bot only sees the channels its role can see.
Back in Alori, the card says "Connected to" and your workspace or server name.
Click: Connectors › Connect
Step 3: Talk to your bot there
Send your bot a direct message, or @mention it in a channel. It answers in the thread (in Discord, as a reply). It's the same bot and the same conversation as in Bots in Alori.
To have it post on its own, ask it in Bots, for example: "post each new deal in #sales".
Click: Bots
Good to know
Teammates are recognized on their own. In Slack, a profile email that matches a teammate's is them.
Someone the bot doesn't know yet can only ask questions. To link, they reply with the email or mobile they have on the team, and type back the 6-digit code they get.
To pick which projects' bots can use it, click Manage › Projects.
If it doesn't work
"… could not connect. Try again." Click Connect again and allow what Slack or Discord asks for.
The bot can't post in a private Discord channel. Connect Discord again and leave Administrator ticked.
The card says "Needs reconnect". See What do I do when a connector says "Needs reconnect"?
