How do I import from Zendesk?
In Import data, click Import from Zendesk, add an OAuth client in Zendesk, sign in and click Allow, then click Import everything.
Open Import data, click Import from Zendesk, add a small OAuth client in your Zendesk and sign in. Then check your help centers, pick who's who, and click Import everything. Your tickets, customers, companies and help center come over in one go.
Also called: Zendesk migration, Zendesk tickets, Zendesk Guide, help desk, billets Zendesk, importer Zendesk, centre d'aide Zendesk, organisations, agents
Step 1: Connect Zendesk
Type your Zendesk address and click Open Zendesk beside Alori: Zendesk's Add OAuth client form opens next to Alori. Follow Alori's steps: Copy, then paste into Zendesk's field of the same name. Replace Zendesk's suggested Identifier, set Client kind to Confidential and Allowed scopes to read. Click Save in Zendesk, paste the Secret it shows in Alori, then click Connect Zendesk and Allow.
Click: Open Zendesk beside Alori › Copy on each step › Save › Connect Zendesk › Allow
Step 2: Check and import
Alori shows how many tickets it found. Your help centers are all checked: uncheck one to leave it out. Next to each Zendesk agent, pick the Alori teammate who takes over, or Nobody. Alori guesses the ones with the same email. Click Import everything. You get an email when it's done.
Click: Import everything
What comes over
Tickets. Each customer's tickets go into their one thread in Conversations, with every reply in order. Emails stay emails, messaging and WhatsApp become chats, texts and calls stay texts and calls.
Open or closed. New, open and on-hold tickets come over open. Pending, solved and closed ones come over closed: the customer's reply reopens them.
Internal notes. Private comments become internal notes, with who wrote them. Customers never see them.
Attachments. Files come with their message; one that couldn't be copied shows its name.
Customers. Every end-user with an email or a phone, with their tags, notes, language, company and fields. One already in Alori is found by email or phone and stays as it is.
Companies. Organizations, with their domain, notes and fields.
Ticket details. Ticket tags join the customer's tags; their latest ticket's type, priority and fields go on the customer.
Who handles it. The teammate you picked for the assignee becomes the customer's owner if they have none.
Help center. Public articles in English and French, with their pictures, videos and tables. Team-only articles never go public: Alori learns them and never tells customers.
What stays in Zendesk
Drafts, articles in other languages, tickets from your team or from people with no email or phone, and views, triggers and macros.
Import again or undo
Import again brings only what changed in Zendesk since your last import, so you can keep using Zendesk until you switch. Nothing comes twice.
Connected Zendesk while creating your app? Your help center came over by itself. Import from Zendesk then goes straight to the help centers and Who's who?, and brings every ticket.
Undo import takes out what the import brought: tickets, notes, the customers and companies it made, and its help center articles. What was already in Alori stays.
If it doesn't work
That isn't a Zendesk address. Type the address you open Zendesk at, like yourcompany.zendesk.com.
Zendesk didn't connect. Check the Identifier, the Redirect URL and the Secret in Zendesk, sign in as an admin and click Allow.
Zendesk asks you to connect again. Click Connect Zendesk and sign in again.
Your app needs an update before it can take a Zendesk import. Publish your app once, then try again.
Zendesk didn't answer. or The import stopped. Click Try again: what already came over stays.
