How do I add columns, videos, links and other blocks to a page?

Type "/" and pick Columns, Video, Web bookmark, Embed, Table of contents, Synced block, Button or Block equation.

Updated October 26, 2026

Type / on an empty line and pick the block. Media and web blocks are under Media, the others under Advanced.

Also called: columns, video, YouTube, link preview, embed, iframe, table of contents, synced block, template button, formula, LaTeX, colonnes, vidéo, intégration, signet, bloc synchronisé, bouton, équation.

Step 1: Put blocks side by side

Pick 2 columns or 3 columns. You can also drag a block by its ⋮⋮ onto the left or right edge of another block: a blue line shows where the new column goes. On a phone, columns show one under the other.

Click: / › 2 columns

Pick Video, Audio or PDF, then paste a link and click Embed link, or click Upload. A YouTube, Vimeo or Loom link plays right in the page.

Web bookmark shows a link as a card with the page's title and picture. Embed shows a whole website inside the page.

Step 3: Help people find their way

Table of contents lists the page's headings and jumps to one when clicked. Breadcrumb shows the pages above this one. Toggle heading 1 to 3 are headings that fold what is under them.

Use the same text on several pages

Synced block keeps one text in sync everywhere you paste it: change it on one page and it changes on all of them. People who can't open the page where it was made see a grey box instead of the text.

Add the same steps in one click

Button adds its blocks under itself each time you click it, for example a checklist for each visit. Click Edit what it adds to name it and change its blocks.

Write a formula

Block equation shows a formula on its own line. To put one inside a sentence, type it between two pairs of dollar signs, like $$\pi r^2$$.

If it doesn't work

  • "Paste an https link.": embeds only take links that start with https://.

  • "This formula has an error": check the LaTeX, for example a missing closing brace.
