How do I write in a page?

Type "/" to add a block (heading, to-do, toggle, callout, table, image…). Drag ⋮⋮ beside a block to move it.

Updated October 26, 2026

A page is made of blocks: text, headings, lists, to-dos, toggles, callouts, tables, pictures and files. Type / on an empty line to pick one, like in Notion.

Also called: slash menu, block, format, bold, checklist, toggle, callout, bloc, mise en forme, liste à cocher.

Step 1: Type "/" to add a block

Type / and keep typing to filter: "/to" finds To-do list, "/h2" finds Heading 2. Press Enter to add it.

Step 2: Use the shortcuts at the start of a line

  • #, ##, ### and a space: headings

  • - and a space: a bulleted list; 1. a numbered list

  • [] and a space: a to-do

  • > and a space: a toggle; " and a space: a quote

  • ---: a divider; `` `: a code block

Step 3: Move, color or change a block

Hover a block on a computer: + adds a line under it, and ⋮⋮ drags it somewhere else. Click ⋮⋮ for Duplicate, Delete, Turn into and Color.

Click: ⋮⋮ › Turn into › Heading 1

Step 4: Format words

Select words to show the toolbar: Link, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, code and the A colors. Type @ to mention a teammate, a page, a customer, a job or a date. A teammate you mention is told.

If it doesn't work

  • Nothing happens when you type: you can only view this page. Ask someone with Full access for Can edit.

  • "This page is in the trash.": click Restore page to edit it again.
