How do I lock a page or change how it looks?

In the ••• menu, Lock page stops every edit until someone unlocks it; Appearance changes the font, Small text and Full width for everyone.

Updated October 26, 2026

Lock a finished page so nobody changes it by accident, and pick its font and width. Both are in the ••• menu at the top right of the page, and they apply for everyone.

Also called: lock, read-only, protect a page, font, serif, mono, small text, full width, verrouiller la page, apparence, police, pleine largeur.

Step 1: Lock the page

Click ••• › Lock page. A bar says "This page is locked, so it can't be changed by accident." Nobody can edit the text, title, icon or cover until someone unlocks it, and a database page's rows and columns stay as they are too. Comments still work.

Click: ••• › Lock page

Step 2: Unlock it

Click Unlock page in the bar, or ••• › Unlock page. Anyone who can edit the page can unlock it.

Step 3: Change how it looks

Click ••• › Appearance. Pick Default, Serif or Mono, and turn Small text or Full width on or off. Each choice saves right away.

Click: ••• › Appearance › Serif

If it doesn't work

  • "This page is locked" when you try to edit: unlock it first.

  • Lock page and Appearance aren't in the menu: you can only view or comment on this page.

  • A database has no Appearance; to keep its columns and views as they are, use Lock database in its view options.
