What can my personal assistant do on its own?

It remembers what you tell it, keeps working until a job is done, does things later or every week, watches for things like a price drop, and reads your Gmail, calendar and Drive.

Your personal assistant remembers what you tell it, keeps working until a job is done, does things later or again and again, and watches for something until it happens, like a price drop. It can also read your Gmail, your calendar and your Google Drive. Anything that costs money or sends something still waits for your yes.

Also called: personal assistant, assistant personnel, agent, tâches planifiées, scheduled tasks, mémoire, memory

Step 1: Ask it to do something later, again, or to watch

Tell it in your own words: "Remind me to call the bank Friday at 9", "Every Monday, reorder the coffee", or "Tell me when a flight to Toronto drops under $400". It sets the task up and says so. A watch checks every hour and gives up after 30 days unless you say otherwise. When a check finds nothing, it doesn't bother you.

If your phone PIN is set, it also texts you when it did something on its own.

Step 2: Stop a task

Open Tasks and memory, then Tasks, and click Stop next to the task. You can also just tell it: "Stop watching the flight."

Click: Tasks and memory › Tasks › Stop

Step 3: Follow a long job

For a job with several steps, it writes a plan. You see Working on it above the chat box, with how many steps are done. Click it to see every step. It keeps going on its own until the job is done. The Log tab lists everything it did, with when.

Click: Working on it (above the chat box)

Step 4: See and change what it remembers

Tell it your preferences once ("my usual Uber Eats order is the pad thai from Thai Express") and it uses them next time. Open Memory to see everything it remembers. Click Forget on anything you want gone. Only you see it.

Click: Tasks and memory › Memory › Forget

Step 5: Choose what it may do in your apps

Open Apps. For Gmail and Calendar, pick Off, Read only or Read and act. These use the Gmail and calendar you connected in your CRM. For Google Drive, click Connect and allow it in Google. It finds and reads your documents and never changes them.

Click: Tasks and memory › Apps › Google Drive › Connect

If it doesn't work

  • "Google Drive isn't set up on this Alori yet." Drive can't be connected here yet. Contact Alori support.

  • "Google Drive didn't connect. Try again." Click Connect again and allow access in Google.

  • "You've reached this month's limit for your assistant. Ask an admin to raise it." Tasks stop too until the limit is raised or the month ends.

  • It says Gmail isn't connected. Connect Gmail on the Email page of your CRM first.
