How do I import tasks from Excel or CSV?

On the Tasks page, click Import and choose your Excel or CSV file. Alori finds the titles, dates, people and statuses on its own.

Updated October 22, 2026

Open Tasks in your team app, click Import and choose your file. Alori reads your columns and makes the tasks right away, with an Undo if you change your mind.

Also called: upload tasks, spreadsheet, Excel, CSV, to-do list, bulk tasks, importer des tâches, tableur, liste de tâches

Your file can come from any tool: Excel (.xlsx) or CSV. Alori finds the titles, due dates, people, customers, projects and statuses on its own. There's nothing to set up or review.

Step 1: Open the import

In your team app, open Tasks. Stay on My tasks or All, then click Import at the top.

Click: Tasks › Import

Step 2: Choose your file

Click Choose a file, or drop your file in the box. Alori shows "Reading your file…", then "Alori is reading your columns…", then "Importing … of …".

Click: Import › Choose a file

Step 3: Check your tasks

When it's done, you see how many tasks came in. Columns Alori couldn't place go in each task's description, so nothing is lost. Click See the tasks to open them. Something wrong? Click Undo: every task from this file goes away.

Click: See the tasks

Good to know

  • Alori reads only the first sheet of an Excel file.

  • Rows without a title are left out, and the window says how many.

  • Up to 2,000 rows come in from one file. If your file has more, it says "Only the first 2000 rows were imported." Split the file and import the rest.

  • Importing the same file twice makes the tasks twice. Use Undo first if you need to try again.

  • Undo keeps the tasks a teammate already worked on.

  • You need to be allowed to edit tasks to see Import.

If it doesn't work

  • "This file is over 20 MB. Split it in two, then try again." Split your file into smaller ones.

  • "This is an old Excel file (.xls). In Excel, save it as .xlsx or CSV, then try again." Open it in Excel and save it as .xlsx or CSV.

  • "This file can't be read. Save it as .xlsx or CSV, then try again." Save it again in one of those formats.

  • "This file has no rows." Check that your tasks are on the first sheet.

  • "Alori couldn't find any tasks in this file." Make sure one column holds the task titles.

  • "The import stopped partway. Undo it, or keep what came in." Click Undo and try again, or keep the tasks that came in.
